Jennifer Richard-Morrow is a pastel painter and apprentice iconographer in upstate New York. She is a member of the Adirondack Pastel Society and St Luke's Guild of Iconographers. She has a BS in Studio Art from the College of St Rose. 'To use the great natural beauty of the Hudson and Mohawk valleys and reference their long history in my work presents a link for the viewer with the enduring beauty of nature. It is a connection with the past so as to not forget what has happened here, both historically and artistically.Painting, is for me, an expression of the everyday mysticism of the effect of light on the landscape. It shows the phenomena of weather and the gift of the sublime. It is important to record the landscape before it possibly disappears under encroaching development.'
